Sikkim University Admission Process Started for Academic Session 2025–26

Note: Sikkim University Admissions will be conducted on the basis of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores.

Gangtok, May 23, 2025 — Sikkim University, a Central University established under an Act of Parliament in 2007, has announced the commencement of its admission process for the academic year 2025–26. The University, located in the capital city of Gangtok, is inviting applications for its diverse range of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes.

As per the official prospectus released on May 21, the admission process will be conducted online and is based on scores from the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), in line with the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The University offers over 33 departments under six major schools of studies, including Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, Languages & Literature, Human Sciences, and Professional Studies.

The registration window for counselling and admission is open from May 22 to June 15, 2025. Document verification and counselling sessions will follow between June 19 and 24, with the first merit list scheduled for release on July 1. Classes for the new academic session will commence from August 1, and the final date for admission is set for August 14.

  • Professional Studies – MBA, M.Ed., MTTM, Mass Communication, and Library Sciences

All admissions are merit-based and include reserved quotas as per Government of India norms. The university has also introduced multiple entry and exit options in its UG and PG programs under NEP guidelines.
