Kalimpong | May 30, 2025 In a bold political move, social Activist Bhawesh Bhujel has launched a poster campaign in Dambar Chowk Kalimpong demanding the immediate resignation of BJP Member of Parliament Raju Bista and MLAs B.P. Bhujel criticizes Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly failing to mention the word “Gorkha” during his speech on May 29, 2025. Bhujel claims this omission is evidence that the BJP is ignoring Gorkha identity and using the community merely for vote bank politics. He writes that the BJP has continuously denied the Gorkha people’s and demands.

Adding to the momentum, Bhujel has announced a mass signature campaign to be held on May 31, 2025, to mobilize public support on the issue. Once the campaign concludes, Bhujel will walk on foot from Kalimpong to the Governor’s House in Darjeeling, where he will submit the collected signatures demanding action.

In a further escalation, Bhujel has declared that if no action is taken by the aforementioned political leaders, he will begin an indefinite hunger strike at Chowrasta in Darjeeling, a historic and symbolic public space.
