Kolkata, May 14 (Agency):
BSF jawan Purnam Kumar Sahu has returned home after being released from Pakistan’s custody. He crossed the Attari-Wagah border and re-entered India on Wednesday morning.
Sahu, a resident of West Bengal, had inadvertently crossed into Pakistani territory on April 23 while on duty, following which he was detained by Pakistani Rangers.
His return has brought immense joy to his family, including his father and wife. Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee spoke to Sahu’s wife over the phone, expressing her happiness upon learning about the jawan’s safe return.
