Kalimpong Municipality to Resume Drinking Water Supply from May 28

Kalimpong, May 27, 2025: After a temporary disruption in the regular supply of drinking water due to extensive damage to pipelines caused by natural calamities, the Kalimpong Municipality has announced that water supply will resume in the town area starting Wednesday, May 28.

According to an official update posted on the municipality’s social media, drinking water was last distributed in the urban region on Sunday, May 25. The Municipality and the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department had earlier committed to providing water every three days, contingent upon sufficient water inflow from sources like Neura and Reli Thukchuk. However, unforeseen natural disasters severely damaged pipelines in multiple areas, causing delays in restoration efforts.

Now, with significant repair work completed, the Municipality confirmed that water will once again be supplied to the town area on Wednesday, followed by supply to Chandralok and Hill Top areas on Thursday, May 29.

Authorities have thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the restoration period. Residents are advised to make necessary preparations for the upcoming water distribution schedule.
