New Delhi, May 28 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to four Indian states — Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh — on May 29 and 30. The visit will feature the inauguration and foundation laying of multiple development projects totaling more than ₹69,000 crore, underscoring the Centre’s commitment to regional development and infrastructure growth.
Day 1: Spotlight on Sikkim and West Bengal
Sikkim
PM Modi will participate in the event Sikkim@50: Where Progress Meets Purpose and Nature Nurtures Growth, marking 50 years of Sikkim’s integration with India. The programme will celebrate the state’s developmental milestones while highlighting its ecological and cultural richness.
West Bengal
In West Bengal, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project in the Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts. The ceremony will take place in Alipurduar and aims to enhance energy accessibility and promote clean fuel usage in the region.
Day 2: Major Announcements in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh
Bihar
In Karakat, Bihar, PM Modi will unveil, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone for multiple development initiatives amounting to over ₹48,520 crore. These projects span sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and connectivity, and are expected to accelerate economic and social development in the state.
Uttar Pradesh
Concluding his visit, the Prime Minister will be in Kanpur Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several key projects worth around ₹20,900 crore. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure, transport, education, and public welfare in the region.
