Uraban area in Kalimpong to get water supply tomorrow, notify Kalimpong Municipality.

The municipality has issued a notice informing residents that drinking water will be supplied to urban areas on 19 May . The municipality has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the disruption in water distribution over the past few days.

According to officials, the recent disruption was due to extensive damage to water pipelines caused by heavy rainfall. The damaged sections span from Neura and Relli to Kalimpong’s Delo Lake, with multiple breaks reported, particularly in remote forested areas, making repair work more difficult and time-consuming.

The concerned departments, including Neura and the Public Health Engineering (PHE) division, have since completed the repair work. Water flow has resumed to Delo Lake, ensuring supply restoration to the urban region.

Officials emphasized that the distribution and operational teams are fully committed to serving the public despite natural disasters. They reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring that clean drinking water reaches every household and thanked residents for their patience.
